Check your lights once a month
Check your headlights, taillights, and turn signals once a month. A burnt-out bulb is usually a quick, cheap fix you can do yourself — no need to pay a shop for it.
Headlights
Turn on your headlights and walk around the front. Look for dim, flickering, or dead bulbs. Most cars also have a high-beam setting — check both.
Taillights & brake lights
Press the brake pedal and check the rear lights. Ask a friend, use a reflection, or back up close to a wall so you can see the glow in your mirror.
Turn signals
Switch on the left and right turn signals one at a time. Walk around the car and make sure both the front and rear bulbs flash on each side.
💡 Tip: If one headlight looks dim or yellow, replace bulbs in pairs. Bulbs fade similarly, so the other one is probably close behind.
